In 1921, Yeghishe Charents completes his series «Tagharan», in the poem «To Armenia» included in which the poet refers for the first time to the prototype of Nerses Shnorali. In his poems Charents also mentions Shnorali’s name in the last years of his life, in the work written under the subtitle «Poets» of the series «Monostich». In that poem, Shnorhali is designated as the greatest mind preceding Charents’s time. . Here, Charents emphasizes Shnorali’s genius and giftedness. The above-mentioned circumstances emphasize that Charents becomes the heir of Nerses Shnorali’s poetic gift. And the evaluation given by the «student» to the «teacher» is exceptional. According to Charents, the prototype of Shnorali is exceptional, in the context of this monostich, Shnorali is even the greatest from the beginning of Armenian poetry to the time of Charents. The exceptional assessment given to Shnorali is still present in the "Tagharan" series, in which the prototype of Nerses Shnorali is mentioned for the first time and is described as "genius". At the sunset of life, in 1937, near Charents, the name of Nerses Shnoralu is revived again and continues the tradition from the tomb. In this case, the "poetry couple" of Narekatsi-Shnorhali also performs together. However, in the monostikos, first the poetic inheritance is emphasized - the chain of the so-called "royal inheritance" is shown, then the poet revises his opinion and the uniqueness of Nerses Shnorali as "the greatest of the greats" is emphasized at the top of the pyramid of Armenian poetry. As an adult, Yeghishe Charents confirms the assessment of Nerses Shnorali as his prototype. Charents considers himself the heir of Shnorali's poetry. At this point, Charents may have meant both genius and creative diversity and multitalentedness. Because Charents and Nerses Shnorali were distinguished by their creative diversity, their talent for creating in a number of genres, their literary and artistic innovation, as well as their ability to develop Armenian poetry and pave a new path. The above-mentioned circumstances emphasize that Charents becomes the heir of Nerses Shnorali's poetic gift. And the evaluation given by the "student" to the "teacher" is superlative.
