Abstract

The literary field of newly independent Armenia in the 1990s is characterized by aesthetic explorations, the rethinking of traditions, and clashes between new ideological directions. In this context, the discussion around Vazgen Gabrielyan's article "Paranoia. Why, for what?", which recorded generational and value-based differences in the literary field, acquires particular significance. The purpose of this article is to analyze the main topics of this discussion, present the positions of the various parties, and discuss their significance in the development of modern Armenian literature.
