This article explores the problem of defining the political stability of the state within the scholarly literature and analyzes the diverse approaches to its conceptualization and study. It traces the historical evolution of perspectives on political stability, considers more comprehensive approaches to examining political and social stability, highlights the distinctive features of existing definitions of state political stability, and identifies the methodological differences among them. Recognizing the absence of a universally accepted definition, the author advances a formulation that captures the multidimensional nature of political stability, provides analytical clarity, and can be applied in empirical research across different political systems and contexts.
